The land of “Liberté, égalité, fraternité” might need to change its famous motto. Unfounded fears over youth nicotine pouch use mean that France will ban the harm-reduction product in a few weeks, forcing many consumers back toward lethal cigarettes. October is ADHD Awareness Month. While the neurodevelopmental disorder has made its way into the public consciousness more than ever, it’s still frequently misunderstood. He’s also a much-loved and genial figure in the harm-reduction advocacy space.

Tir Dhondy follows up the very watchable Hunting the Rolex Rippers by exploring the “epidemic” of people using a reduced-risk, legally available smoking alternative product. But if you think this show is a much-overdue celebration of the UK’s declining smoking rates, you might be disappointed. Ostensibly, Snus: Hooked on Nicotine is a documentary. However, I always feel a little uncomfortable calling TV programs like this by that name.
