Devon Christopher Weiss, age 25 of Taylorsville, was apprehended by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday April 24th. He’s charged with felony breaking and entering and vandalism with damage to real property including willful and wanton injury. As of earlier today, Weiss remains in custody with secured bond set at $25,000. Weiss is also awaiting trial in Iredell County on charges of driving while license revoked from 2022 , 2024 and 2025.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Morganton on Sunday. Morganton Public Safety Officers responded to the area of Carbon City Road at Independence Boulevard in reference to a pedestrian being struck by a car around 1:30 pm. Officers located the victim in the roadway. The investigation indicated a female was making a right turn off of Carbon City Road onto Independence Boulevard under a steady green traffic light.
