MX-5 Cup: A World PremiereWhen Mazda introduced the NC model of its Miata for 2006, it also introduced a new series, the MX-5 Cup. Like the Spec Miata formula, Mazda specified an MX-5 Cup race car with certain equipment, and modified with certain parts by the teams and drivers competing with it. The series was initially run by SCCA Pro Racing, and it quickly took off.

Mario Farnbacher will join Misha Goikhberg in the No. 78 Forte Racing Lamborghini Huracán for the full ISMA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. Goikhberg has had Loris Spinelli alongside him in the past two seasons that resulted in fifth-place finishes in the points standings each year. For 2025, it will be two-time GTD champion Farnbacher, who spent last season in a partial program with Heart of Racing.

Big Machine Racing is teaming up with Forte Racing for the 63rd Rolex 24 at Daytona. The team owned by music mogul Scott Borchetta is fresh off another playoff appearance in the NASCAR Xfinity series.

IMSA has released the provisional entry list for the 63rd Rolex 24 at Daytona, with a full field of 61 entries across the four classes for the twice-around-the-clock season opener of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. After a solitary season with McLaren, Pfaff Motorsports is going to another marque for its IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD PRO campaign in 2025, opting to compete with a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 beginning with the Rolex 24 At Daytona next month. The driver line-up for Daytona will be Lamborghini drivers Andrea Caldarelli, Marco Mapelli, Jordan Pepper and Pfaff’s endurance driver in 2024, James Hinchcliffe.

Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer will return to the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season to make a second run at the GTD championship. Australian racer Tom Sargent will join for the endurance events, and the team will add young Turkish racer Ayhancan Güven for Daytona.

Trent Hindman is joining Wayne Taylor Racing’s GTD effort alongside Danny Formal, who will return for his sophomore season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Formal and Hindman will be the full-season pairing in the No. 45 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, with Doyle Graham returning to his endurance addition role and Kyle Marcelli moving from full-season to a single appearance with the team in the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
