Two people have been charged after the Ontario Provincial Police recovered stolen property, including two furnaces, valued at about $100,000. Antoine Campagna, from South Glengarry, and Joseph Campagna from Cornwall, have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking in stolen goods. They are to appear in Cornwall court February 20.

A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested Jan. 15 by the Cornwall Police and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and to damage property. It is alleged the youth threatened to kill a woman and burn down her house.

The Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged two motorists with impaired driving. January 11, shortly after 11 p.m., SD&G officers observed a motor vehicle unable to maintain its lane on Highway 401 in South Glengarry Township. Further Investigation led to the driver being arrested. Megan Poupore, 30, of Massena, New York was charged with impaired driving.

A 15-year-old from Cornwall was charged January 13 with domestic assault with a weapon and domestic assault after she allegedly threw a lighter at her ex-boyfriend and hit him in the head, reports the Cornwall Police Service. She was taken into custody, charged and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that Jan. 12, the woman allegedly started a fire, damaging the property of an individual known to her. A 27-year-old Martintown was pronounced dead at the scene of an all-terrain vehicle accident January 12 near County Road 11 in North Dundas Township, reports the Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police. An 11-year-old passenger had no serious injuries but was transported to hospital. The collision occurred shortly after 9 p.m.The SD&G OPP continues to investigate with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and a collision reconstructionist.
