    Professor Melanie Amna Abas will begin the post on 1 December 2023, leading the Institute’s research on improving healthcare in lower resource settings. Professor Melanie Amna Abas has been appointed to the role of Director of the King’s Global Health Institute. She will take up the post from 1 December 2023 following the departure of Professor Martin Prince.

    King’s have been awarded a total of 46 Academic Clinical Fellowships and Clinical Lectureships for 2024 and 2025 by the National Institute of Health and Care Research to train future clinical academic leaders. For medical trainees, the NIHR Integrated Academic Training (IAT) programme enables individuals to undertake academic and clinical training concurrently at partners Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
