Ben Tozer in action for Wrexham (Image: PA) BEN TOZER was gutted he missed seeing Wrexham make history. The 35-year-old centre-back, who this week announced his retirement from football, was club captain and a back-to-back promotion winner during his time at The Racecourse. He joined from Cheltenham Town in August 2021 and was part of the Wrexham side which clinched the National League title following a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign.

It was job done in the opening period as Cru led 26-0 at half-time through tries by Sam Wilde (2), Jordy Gibson and Ollie Brookes (2), with Jamie Dallimore kicking three conversions. Brookes sealed his hat-trick early in the second half and although play-off chasing Rochdale scored two tries, Forster says an excellent opening 40 minutes paved the way for an eighth win in nine outings.

2 1/1 NORTHOP showed they are a force to be reckoned with by picking up a huge win against Premier Division high-fliers Bangor. Beaten just once in their opening six matches, Bangor have made an excellent start to the season but Northop triumphed by three wickets to climb up to fifth in the table. Nadeem Rehman (38) and Franco Kasner (52) top scored for Bangor who were all out for 148 with captain Bart Ryan-Beswick taking a brilliant 6-18 from eight overs.

Supun Eranga top scored with 47 as Carmel posted 136 for seven in their 40 overs with Jack Gibson taking 4-17. Although their two openers went cheaply, Buckley triumphed with 139 for seven with Danny Peover (33), Chris Geary (52) and Jack Whitley (24) seeing them home. Amer Jamil (3-18) was the pick of the Carmel bowlers.
