The Leader, which used to be called 'The Wrexham Evening Leader,' is a daily newspaper based in Wales, available on weekday mornings. It covers a mix of local and national news stories. In the north-east region of Wales, there are two editions of The Leader – one for Wrexham and another for Flintshire. Additionally, there's an edition available in Chester, England, just across the border.

The Leader reported previously on the sentencing of numerous defendants from areas including Flintshire, Denbighshire and Merseyside, connected to Operation Blue Triumph. Many were jailed in February for their various parts in a criminal enterprise which saw class A and B drugs brought into north Wales.

    ClwydAlyn has worked alongside developer Castle Green Partnerships, in collaboration with Flintshire County Council and Welsh Government to create 56 new, lifetime homes, which are much needed in the Mynydd Isa area. Work started on the Mold Road development in August 2023 and is scheduled to complete in autumn 2025. The homes are a mixture of one, two, and three-bedroom styles, including bungalows, apartments, semi-detached and detached homes as well as an adapted bungalow.

Thea Williams, aged 36 and of Glan Gors, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday alongside 35-year-old co-defendant Carla Evans, of Coed Aben. Both defendants admitted one offence of shoplifting, which took place at One Below in Regent Street, Wrexham, on December 16 last year.

    The proposals have been placed with Wrexham Council's planning authority to convert the Wheatsheaf workshops in Rhosymedre into 16 one and two bedroom apartments. The apartments will consist of 11 in the main building, as well as five more in an outbuilding on the site. The application has been submitted by Finchfield Homes Ltd, with HDS architectural services providing the documents.
