My travels to work get more interesting by the day. There are 11 red lights I must pass under on my 19-mile journey of which the first six miles have none. Then the fun begins. Over the last two weeks, I have been averaging nine stops each morning en route to the office. That’s not stopping just before the light turns green. It seems like every red light is being tripped by my oncoming Burgundy Titan so I get the full time stoppage which has become aggravating.

In the midst of putting the finishing touches on several graduation sect ions last weekend, Sandy’s family was dealt a devastating blow. She received a phone call around 10:15 a.m., Sunday, May 18 as I was about to leave for the office telling her the body of her 23-year-old nephew had been found on property in Pierce County. His death is being investigated by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. I met Tristin Aspinwall about 16 years ago and have watched him grow and slowly mature into a young man.

Whether they’re maintaining or repairing, it’s necessary to keep the neighbors moving. However, not everyone who owns a vehicle has been taught how to maintain them between visits. Some of these projects will make you scratch your head with the backwoods ingenuity.

In the journalism field, editors at every level of our profession, from major daily papers to the small weeklies, will write crazy headlines — especially on deadline. It’s not until it comes off the press that mistakes are realized.

Unless programs are winning games or matches and advancing through the playoffs, coaches catch the brunt when teams struggle. An injury or two to main players are sometimes crucial to a teams’ success. Sometimes its just the luck of how the ball bounces. The coaching profession is a thankless job compounded by those who routinely bash a coach or coaches. Coaches give their time and effort when they could be home with their families. It’s something they want to do.
