After 77 years in Prince William, the Manassas Church of God is planning a move to Fauquier County next year. Pastor Todd Wilcoxon said the church is working on the purchase of a Midland property off Route 28 and plans to make the move in 2026 once construction is complete. When the Manassas Church of God established itself in 1947, it began with the campground built on 8823 Rixlew Lane, where the facilities are still found today.

The Manassas Economic Development Authority purchased the shopping center at 9018 Mathis Ave. for $16 million last year to help spur the long-planned redevelopment and revitalization of the Mathis Avenue corridor.
