Culpeper voters casting ballots in the recent Democratic primary picked different winners than those selected in the statewide contests. Former state delegate and assistant attorney general Jay Jones of Norfolk is the Democratic nominee for Virginia attorney general. A Culpeper man is free after spending a week in jail for reportedly driving his SUV through a crowd of Trump protesters dispersing last Saturday outside of the local Walmart. Joseph R. Checklick Jr., 21, was released Monday afternoon on $4,000 secured bond on a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving in a parking lot.
