Christmas songs. Love ’em or hate ’em, they’re practically inescapable at this time of year. As my family will attest, I fall into the former camp, eagerly awaiting the negotiated date — in this case, the day after Thanksgiving — I am permitted to turn the soundtrack of our lives into a cornucopia of holly, jolly (and yes, occasionally hokey) holiday tunes. This is all intended to establish that, historically speaking, I am no Grinch.
