Sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what is needed in life. For the Hearne high school football team, a switch to District 12-2A-DI could be the positive change needed to have a successful season. RICK WEEGMAN Experience reigns at Bremond, which returns 18 starters and 34 lettermen from a football team that finished third in its district, but most of the preseason discussion has surrounded one starter who didn’t return. Two-year starting quarterback Braylen Wortham, still only a junior, took his 3,000-plus yards of total offense and 4.6 speed to College Station High School this summer.

RICK WEEGMAN Before Franklin’s recent run of Texas state football championships, the Cameron Yoemen were one of the teams to beat in the Brazos Valley. The Yoemen won back-to-back Class 2A Division I titles in 2012-13 and three-peated in 2014 after stepping up to 3A-I. Cameron would like to return to such lofty status, but to do so the Yoemen first need to get past two-time defending state champion Franklin in District 11-3A-I.
