MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — The Chennault Aviation Park has been in the works for about three years; however, Nell Calloway, the President of the Chennault Museum, along with other board members, had the vision for over six years. Calloway says this has been a long process, and the grand opening is a huge step. We have been trying for many years, we have had our aircraft restoration program that’s been going on for almost twenty years now.

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KTVE/KARD) — Most people are used to going out in the heat to work or run errands and having the privilege to return to the comfort of the cool air in their homes. Unfortunately, this is not the case for some people in the area. Idabell is 67 and has been without a home for about a year, and just like her, many homeless people are battling the summer heat. John Wiggins says he had been homeless for about 20 years until he found a home through a program.

WEST MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — School is almost back in session, so parents and teachers may face inflated school supplies prices. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, prices of school supplies have increased by 23.7% in the last two years. Michelle is a parent and a teacher; she tries to avoid the high prices by budgeting. The first thing I like to do is just take an assessment of the clothes that my kids already have or things that we can use for the next year.
