Attica Locke’s thrillers have always been as much about socio-political commentary as they have a core mystery. A mind-bending, time-looping, body-swapping murder mystery set in a crumbling mansion, it was akin to Agatha Christie by way of Christopher Nolan, a wildly imaginative homage to the Golden Age of detective fiction.
