WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - It may be spring, but the Watertown Red and Black Semi-pro football team is thinking about the upcoming 2025 season. On Saturday at the team’s Faichney Drive office, coach George Ashcraft held a meeting for players and coaches to unofficially kick off the 2025 season. The Red and Black will once again be competing in the Northeastern Football Alliance’s AA division and will open the season on May 31st at home, hosting the Charlotte Colonials.

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - One of the winningest coaches in high school basketball in the North Country won’t be back on the sidelines next season. After 19 years on the sidelines leading the Sackets Harbor boys basketball program, Jeff Robbins announced on Wednesday night that he was stepping down as head coach of the team, ending a nearly 30-year link with the basketball team as a manager, scorekeeper, player, and coach. Robbins says he followed his heart in making the decision.
