That’s according to city police, who continue investigating what happened. Officials said a 35-year-old man behind the wheel of a gray SUV was pulling out of a driveway in the 1100 block of State Street near California Avenue when it was hit by a car.

TOWN OF LAWRENCE, New York (WWNY) - A St. Lawrence County woman faces animal cruelty charges for allegedly abandoning seven dogs. Last Tuesday, state police were called to a home on Brooklyn Road in the town of Lawrence, where they found two adult dogs and five puppies inside. Troopers said the animals were malnourished and underweight and the home was full of feces and urine. Police said they didn’t know how long the dogs had been abandoned.

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Watertown City Council Member Cliff Olney says he was blindsided after learning nearly a hundred of signatures on his petitions for re-election are not valid. The paperwork was challenged because of visible alterations. The Jefferson County Board of Elections says 95 of Olney’s signatures were invalidated. Olney is now 11 signatures short of the 165 needed. According to the board of elections, two of Olney’s witness statements were altered.
