As he spoke with reporters in person, a tape-delayed image of him being interviewed on TV in a different room flashed on a monitor in front of him. “I can transport,” he said, smiling. He can indeed. Scheffler, who successfully defended his Memorial Tournament title with a four-shot win June 1, is alive and well in 2025, yet the 28-year-old Texan somehow simultaneously seems to take up similar space in 1930, 1953, 1975 and 2000.

Australian David Graham, who from a certain perspective became the first and only left-handed golfer to win the Memorial Tournament, has been selected by the Captains Club to be the tournament's 2026 honoree. Graham, 79, first learned to golf left-handed before switching sides at age 14 when a co-worker in the pro shop where he was employed convinced him to make the change.
