    Bosses at a water company have been warned by the water services regulator they could be banned from receiving bonus payments if the firm's performance does not improve. Ofwat said following serious pollution incidents, any performance related payments for senior Anglian Water staff may not be justified. Anglian Water has been prosecuted five times since 2022. A spokesperson for the water company said it supported financial reward being linked to company performance.

    Ecopetrol S.A. EC, a Colombia-based energy firm, has announced its plans to construct a new green hydrogen plant at its refinery in Cartagena, with an expected production capacity of 800 tons of green hydrogen per year. Per Ecopetrol, this should make it the largest renewable energy producing plant in Latin America. The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, has prioritized reducing the country’s dependence on fossil fuels.

    Students protesting against the war in Gaza have taken over the lawns outside an iconic university building. Members of Cambridge for Palestine had entered Greenwich House in the city on Friday and activists have since set up outside Senate House near King's College Chapel. The group claimed the university had not acted on previous agreements to review investments in the defence and arms industry.

    A city centre car park is due to reopen after a "major delay" to its redevelopment. Cambridge's Park Street car park was closed in January 2022 for main project works and demolition with an expected reopening date of August 2024. The city council said there had been "unprecedented weather, changes to compliance and regulation requiring additional works, and supply chain issues".
