The more often Catholics in the United States attend Mass, the more likely they are to oppose proposed changes to the Church, such as blessing same-sex marriages and allowing women to become priests, a new Pew Research Center study reveals. Pew Research surveyed 1,787 Catholics nationwide from Feb. 3–9 and asked their views on a wide range of topics. Pew’s report specifically tracked and categorized the answers of Catholics who attend Mass at least weekly and those who don’t.

As cardinals gather in Rome ahead of the May 7 conclave, thousands of pilgrims are flocking to the Basilica of St. Denis in Argenteuil, France, to venerate what's believed to be the holy tunic of Jesus -- the seamless robe described in the Gospels. After videos of people scraping their keys across certain electric vehicles, the other most popular images on social media these days seem to be those of “street preachers,” either standing in the commons of some institution of higher learning, or on a street corner. The street-corner variety almost always seems to be at night, and in a rough part of town. None of the preachers seem to be Catholic. I have mixed feelings about that.
