Along with Galway, the Cats topped the group and while they assured themselves of a straight passage to the last four, it’s still a long break without a competitive outing.

    Cloneen and St Patrick’s of Wicklow met in a very competitive Leinster League Division 3 Hurling Final on Saturday with the Kilkenny side running out six point winners in the end. Opening half goals from Gary Delaney and Kieran Whelan gave Cloneen the edge and although team captain Breanainn Buggy was sent off in the second half, they still ran out comfortable winners in the end.

    Kilkenny wrapped up a third successive win in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship after claiming a 15-point victory over an outclassed Offaly side at Nowlan Park. TJ Reid was the star of the show as he notched 2-9 in his first appearance in this year’s championship campaign and with Martin Keoghan and sub Adrian Mullen also finding the net, Derek Lyng’s men were much too good for the Faithful County in a game that was practically over by the end of the first quarter.

    After a two-week break, it’s back to action in the GAA Hurling Leinster Championship, with three games on the schedule this afteroon including the meeting of Kilkenny and Offaly in UPMC Nowlan Park. Kilkenny have won their first two games, beating Galway and Antrim while Offaly lost their first two to Dublin and Galway so points are definitley at a premium for both counties.
