Consumers wagered a total of $576.2 million on sports during April. Paid wagering revenue for the month amounted to $560.7 million, with promotional bets at $15.5 million. The total fell 11.2% short of April 2024, the first full month of legal sports wagering in North Carolina.

The Northern Territory government in Australia has announced that the annual tax cap for corporate bookmakers and betting exchanges will double, with the increase expected to generate AU$13.1 million (US$8.4 million) in additional tax income each year. Announced as part of the 2025-26 budget, the increase will take effect on 1 July this year. The Northern Territory government will amend the Racing and Wagering Act 2024 to reflect the new cap.

Players in New York spent $2.15 billion betting on sports online during April, a year-on-year rise of 9.1%, while revenue in the Empire State also increased. Spend surpassed the $1.97 billion wagered on sports in April of 2024, figures from the New York State Gaming Commission showed. However, the monthly total fell 12.2% short of the $2.45 billion bet in March this year. As for revenue, this reached $192.7 million during April.
