A Wake County motorcyclist lost his life in a single vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Harnett County. Omar S. Moore, 44, of Fuquay-Varina, was driving south down U.S. Highway 401 when he ran off of the roadway and lost control around 2 a.m., according to a preliminary investigation by North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper D.R. Grady.

A dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend turned deadly for one young man in Lillington Wednesday evening. Arrest made in fatal hit and run

Officials with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol made an arrest Thursday, April 3, in the hit and run death of a Sanford woman. Clarence Wade Young, 30, of 520 Rafter Creek Lane in Sanford, was arrested and charged with felony hit and run causing death, according to case information on eCourts. A Dunn man is facing drug trafficking charges after he reportedly ran from officers during a routine traffic stop on Friday night. Man gets 180 days in jail for deadly drug deal

A Cameron man pleaded guilty to a death by distribution charge on Monday after admitting that he provided the drugs that led to the overdose death of a Harnett County man on Aug. 23, 2022. Jamin Elijah Dishman, 26, was ordered to serve 180 days in the Harnett County jail and five years of supervised release and complete a community service requirement in lieu of a three to five year sentence in prison. He was given credit for the 584 days he spent in jail waiting for his case to be resolved.
