Fresno State had eight games selected for national broadcasts as part of the Mountain West Conference television package released on Thursday, and it will play two more national TV games through the Big 12 and the Pac-12. The Bulldogs in their first season under coach Matt Entz will open at Kansas on Aug. 23 with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on FOX, one of four games on the opening Saturday of the college football season. Fresno State will then play Georgia Southern in its home opener on Aug.

Former Fresno State guard Tyler Johnson, a critical building block in a short-lived resurgence of Bulldogs' basketball more than a decade ago, is returning to the program as an assistant coach. Those offers ran into the mid-six figures, according to multiple athletics department sources. Those offers, between $100,000 and $450,000, were coming from Power Four conference schools.
