The Council on Regional Economic Expansion and Educational Development, or CREEED, will receive a $10 million grant from the Woody and Gayle Hunt Family Foundation, which previously gave $12 million to the organization.

U.S. District Judge David Guaderrama of El Paso criticized Las Americas for waiting until the eve of the attorney general’s deadline for compliance before filing its request for a temporary restraining order.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton lost a legal battle against Texas Catholics on Tuesday, as an El Paso judge blocked his efforts to shut down the Annunciation House's network of migrant shelters along the border that the AG believed encouraged illegal migration. Judge Francisco X. Dominguez ruled that Paxton's office had violated the constitutional rights of the Catholic nonprofit by trying to enforce a subpoena for records of migrants, according to the Associated Press.

El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser will attend an event at the White House on Tuesday, where President Joe Biden is expected to announce executive actions to dramatically limit migrants’ ability to seek asylum at the U.S.-Mexico border. CNN first reported that Biden was expected to invite mayors from border cities to the event, and Leeser confirmed to El Paso Matters Sunday night that he would attend.
