Ten points and three deuces later, the junior pair were smiling again after finishing off an 8-0 win in their match.

WINCHESTER — The fastest girl in Millbrook High School's 22-year history didn't need to take long to decide on her college future. Senior Jada Arrington was offered a full track & field scholarship to attend Norfolk State University on her official visit to the NCAA Division I school on April 5, and she decided on that trip that she wanted to make Norfolk her future home. Arrington first got into contact with Norfolk State a couple months ago.

With each passing year, the odds get worse that any more members of the Washington Redskins from 1982-91 will be inducted into the Pro Hall of Fame — offensive guard Russ Grimm in 2010 was the last member of the franchise to receive that honor. Grimm joined running back John Riggins, cornerback Darrell Green and wide receiver Art Monk as Redskins Pro Football Hall of Famers from that era to make the Hall.

WINCHESTER — Over the past couple of decades, several former Washington Redskins who played duriing the franchise's heyday in the 1980s and early 1990s have come to the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival as sports guests, and they've expressed things that gave them reason for optimism about the state of the franchise now known as the Commanders. For the most part, the things those players were enthused about either didn't pan out, or the success of the subjects they talked about were short-lived.
