Autistic adults, relative to non-autistic adults, have higher rates of medical disorders, both acute and chronic (Cashin et al., 2018; Croen et al., 2015; Forde et al., 2022), physical or sensory disabilities (Rydzewska et al., 2018), psychiatric disorders (Lai et al., 2019), and poor general health (Rydzewska et al., 2019).
