The fact that a team which enjoyed less than 22% of possession won the FA Cup against the powerhouse of English football of recent years was remarkable enough, and a testament to the organisation and desire shown by Crystal Palace, but there is much more about their win that may have lasting effects on the game. Silly defensive errors gifting goals to opponents who’ve actually created little themselves, periods of possession with little or no end product or one good half and one bad one.
