The Davis Musical Theatre Company will be holding open auditions for its Young Performers’ Theatre production of “James and the Giant Peach, Jr.”Auditions are set for Monday, Sept. 16 and Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 4:30 p.m. at the Jean Henderson Performing Arts Center, located at 607 Pena Drive in Davis. Call backs will be the following day on Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. at the same location.

The Yolo County Democratic Party has announced the endorsement of candidates for local offices in Yolo County on the Nov. 5, 2024 ballot. “The purpose of the endorsement process is to promote outstanding local candidates who support the Democratic Party and its values. These endorsements are the result of a fair, open, inclusive and rigorous process open to all registered Democratic candidates,” stated the Chair of the Yolo County Democratic Party, Jake Whitaker, of Woodland.

Spectacular music and superb acting by an all youth cast are the highlights of this abridged version of the full-length 1991 Broadway production, “Children of Eden.”With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz – known for such iconic masterpieces as “Wicked,” “Pippin” and “Godspell” – you’ll be drawn into the storyline. The show is based on the Book of Genesis, retelling the first nine chapters. Act I tells the story of Adam and Eve/Cain and Abel, and Act II depicts Noah and the flood.
