The Bradley Public Library is offering a program to help adults as they age. The Wits Workout Program was developed by the University of Illinois. It is also a program a part of the Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet. The program can help build friendships while exercising the mind.

GRANT PARK — Chill out this weekend in Grant Park as the village will be holding a fun event. The village of Grant Park’s Festival Committee will be holding the 10th annual Cabin Fever Reliever Saturday at the Grant Park Community Center, 209 W. Dixie Highway. The fundraiser will have a list of entertainment scheduled for the day, starting at 4 p.m. when the beer bar opens. Bingo will start at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 7:30 p.m.Dinner and drinks will be available for purchase.

Daily Journal staff reportOlivet Nazarene University’s Voluntary Income Tax Assistance team will be offering a free tax return preparation for those who qualify. Visit the Weber Center at Olivet from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on any Tuesday night February through March to get a tax return filed for free. Olivet will have tax certified preparer volunteers ready to help people get their taxes done. For more information about who qualifies, visit the IRS.gov and search VITA.

Daily Journal staff reportSince the summer of 2021, Bradley resident Rochelle Langlois has battled Stage 4 cancer everywhere from her lungs, spine, adrenal glands, brain, bone and liver. A paraprofessional for the Bourbonnais Elementary School District 53 for almost 30 years, Langlois, 58, was in remission a couple years ago, but her brain tumor has returned. On Dec. 26, 2024, she had surgery to remove the mass.
