La Crosse, Wis. - (WXOW) - The Peace and Justice Stations of the Cross took place Friday morning, a La Crosse tradition through the Franciscan Spirituality Center. "Regardless of our faith traditions, our political beliefs, our identities, we are all human and we're all in this together," said Sister Julia Walsh, who participated in the walk. The 2 mile walk begins at the Spirituality Center and ends about two hours later at Riverside Park.

The contest is a celebration and recognition of the local and area creative community. "It's a competition that highlights La Crosse as an inspiration — the topography, the culture," said Kenzie Berg, Marketing Manager.

La Crosse, Wis. (WXOW) — The Western Technical horticulture students held a plant sale on Thursday, raising money for the class club. The campus greenhouse had a wide array of house plants, vegetable plants and flowering baskets. The students also helped with any plant questions people might have had. "It's a little early to put the plants in the ground," said Brayden Sparks, a horticulture student.

Prairie du Chien, Wis. - (WXOW) - The tough decisions continue for the Prairie du Chien school district after major cuts were announced at Monday's meeting. "With our declining enrollment and our funding, we can't keep up," said District Administrator Andy Banasik. Two attempts at referendums to close the funding gap were presented to voters back in November and then again in April. Both failed. Now the district faces a $1.5 million dollar deficit reality.

Prairie du Chien, Wis. - (WXOW) - In the wake of a failed budget referendum, Prairie du Chien's school board announced the current academic and co-curricular cuts to be expected moving forward. Listed and passed to move forward were a reduction of academic programming. The list included the Criminal Justice class, student driven enrollment classes and having the school cover the cost of student AP exams.
