Kewaskum, WI – Might want to jump on the #JordanStolz bandwagon as this future winter Olympian is racking up quite a long list of accomplishments. As of Friday morning, the 20 year old from the town of Wayne has won 14 consecutive gold medals so far this World Cup season. Stolz is currently skating in China at the Beijing World Cup. West Bend, WI – The Allenton American Legion Post 483 will be at West Bend Fleet Farm this shopping weekend on Friday, November 29; Saturday, November 30; and Sunday, December 1. The post invites those interested in supporting our campaign to raise funds to supply 900 wreaths for Veterans graves in the Washington County area. REMINDER you can still donate towards a wreath(s) to be placed at a veteran’s grave on December 14 at one of the 18 cemeteries our post takes responsibility for.

Elevate, the Washington/Ozaukee Substance Use Coalition and Still Waters Church are hosting their Annual Candlelight Vigil for those families and friends affected by loved ones that are addicted or have passed away. The event is Thursday, December 5th at Still Waters Church at 3617 Scenic Road, south of WI-60. There will be inspirational music, reflection words of support and refreshments. The program will start at 6:30 p.m. Everyone that has been infected by an addiction is invited to join us.

West Bend, WI – Opening day for the new Taco John’s in West Bend, WI, has been announced. The store on S. Main Street still had a couple boxes to check on the to-do list including finish paving the driveway and putting a bow on some landscape. Hiring is underway and training starts Monday, October 7. The new Taco John’s will open on October 14, 2024.

Allenton, WI – The Allenton Fire Department is kicking off Fire Prevention Week with many community activities promoting fire safety October 6 – 12. This year’s national theme is Smoke alarms, make them work. Friday morning department personnel will be visiting the Allenton Elementary School, starting at 9 a.m. The morning will involve fire prevention demonstrations, giving tours of some of the apparatus, and giving each youngster a gift bag filled with fire prevention educational material.
