    South East Queensland has been hammered by category 1 winds overnight as ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred finally made landfall around 9pm between Brisbane and Maroochydore. Widespread damage has been reported across Redcliffe where wind gusts to 100km/h were recorded overnight, while 320,000 homes across the southeast are without power this morning. Residents in the city of Moreton Bay, home to half a million people, were issued a severe weather alert around 8.45pm asking them to stay indoors.
