Whenever a person asks for book recommendations on a running-related Facebook group they are met with a barrage of suggestions. But the vast majority of these books are written by men, and tell the stories of male runners. Many of these books are fantastic (anything by Adharanand Finn or Dean Karnazes) but they are only representing half of the picture. In recent years I’ve made a deliberate effort to seek out running books about women, written by women. And I haven’t been disappointed.
