WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A few showers and storms will be possible overnight and early Thursday, but the chances for isolated storms will return heading into the afternoon and evening. Highest chances will be across central and eastern Kansas. The setup isn’t favorable for severe weather, but some of the storms will have heavy downpours and will be slow to move. Afternoon highs will be a mix of upper 80s and low 90s. Rain chances will fade after the sun goes down Thursday evening.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Chances for showers and storms will shift back to far western Kansas on Wednesday, but they won’t stay there for very long. A weak system coming over the Rockies will help to shove the scattered storms back toward central and eastern Kansas on Thursday and again over the weekend. Wednesday looks a tad breezy with winds from the south and gusting up to 25 mph. Highs will be around 90 for much of the state, but of course feel a bit hotter with the humidity.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The gusty south winds and hot summer weather stays in place for the remainder of the weekend. However, isolated storms are forecast to develop in western Kansas into the early evening hours, and a few could produce strong wind gusts to near 60 mph. Otherwise, it’s more dry weather to wrap up the weekend. Low temperatures Sunday will be in the 70s with highs returning to the 90s. Northwest Kansas should see temperatures drop out of the 100s, but it still won’t be all that cool.

Temperatures will remain hot, but not record setting and much of the region should remain below 100 degrees. Saturday will have highs in the mid to upper 90s with gusty south winds. There won’t be too much change on Sunday other than some scattered storms are likely across western Kansas after 4pm.
