    LiveHouse is finally a feature of the Dundee city centre skyline after name of the future 4,500-capacity arena was added to the former Mecca Bingo Hall tower. The LiveHouse entertainment and conference venue is expected to open later this year on the Nethergate. It will become Scotland’s third-largest entertainment venue and will initially host crowds of up to 1,000. The Courier was given exclusive drone footage of the huge letters being added to the tower.

    We are trundling towards a momentous city council planning committee meeting, which is to take a decision on Dundee FC’s new ground. This should be an easy “yes”. Any qualms over traffic problems should be measured against Kingsway West Retail Park, half a mile up the road, with a car park eight times the size. It isn’t a problem, why would the proposed stadium’s car park be a problem? I’m also greatly interested in what comes after. What’s to be done with Dens Park?

    A renowned international swimming coach is heading back to Stirling to head up the university’s acclaimed high-performance programme. Ben Higson will return to the National Swimming Academy at Stirling after seven years away. He will replace Steve Tigg, who has been appointed Swimming Head Coach at Aquatics GB.

And she admitted she has considered moving to the area when she finally decides to return home to Scotland. The popular presenter spoke to the Courier after being named as the newest patron of the Dunblane Centre, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

    Clare Balding: "I need to have structure - it's how my head works" If you can’t catch Clare Balding’s appearance at the Rose Theatre next month, chances are if you hang around Richmond Park’s Isabella Plantation enough you’ll eventually find her. The BBC presenter, who lives in Chiswick, recently listed the Royal Park as one of her favourite rambles. “I think it's just having that amazing space in London,” Balding told the Surrey Comet.
