20mph speed limits are becoming increasingly common across the UK, and Surrey is no exception. Plans for new 20mph zones in Surrey could go ahead under Surrey County Council's new road safety strategy. Earlier this year, the council asked residents to have their say on a range of proposals. 3,600 Surrey drivers and residents responded to the Council’s consultation on their ‘Vision Zero’ strategy , which includes plans to expand 20mph zones.

Boardmasters 2024 is scheduled from August 7 to 11, with a line-up that includes Stormzy, Sam Fender and Chase and Status as headliners. In last week's King's speech, it was revealed that Keir Starmer's cabinet intends to establish a dedicated public body for rail services, named Great British Railways. This move is set to reverse the privatisation of British railways, which was initiated by John Major's Conservative Government through the 1993 Railways Act.
