When someone says to me, you gotta try this burger, I take it with a grain of salt. I’ve been privy to some great rounded ground beef sandwiches, in some out of the most out of the way places, when I had extra time enough to just take a right on a country road. Since the concrete jungle of Houston has few country roads, but when someone says that I have to park next to the blue containers. Ah, my eyebrows rise. I’m intrigued. I like blue containers. I'm planning on living in one someday.

This column may upset some. And quite frankly, I don’t care about democrats feelings, but it needed to be written. When you have a group of people that hate Jews as much as the Gaza protesters do, mostly consisting of palestinian radical muslims and stupid American democrat students who when pressed, don’t really know what they are protesting for, then we have a problem. Major American Universities are essentially killing themselves, and it goes right in line with what I’ve been saying all along.

MONTGOMERY, TX -- This week’s Veteran is Tom Wyka, who served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 - 1969. He early enlisted while still in high school, and went to basic training three days after graduating. Tom served on a Heavy Guided Missile Cruiser for three years in the North Atlantic. This was during serious Cold War times when any seemingly minor incident could launch a major international crisis between the Soviet Union and the Western powers. He also had a few Mediterranean cruises during that time.

MONTGOMERY, TX -- Any place that idolizes John Wayne on its walls, I’m game for. I’m in Historic Montgomery this week, at the bright red building on McCown Street, The Old Montgomery Steak House, having a late breakfast then early lunch with ‘The Duke’, and scores of other regulars that frequent the restaurant. It’s Veteran-owned, which checks a top box in my column, and every waitress seemed to know every customer that entered the premises. That’s why I love Historic Montgomery.

MONTGOMERY, TX -- Meet PeeWee. A lovable 7 year old Corgi-Collie mix, owned by Malcolm Young, of Montgomery. PeeWee loves to do tricks. He is able to walk on his hind feet, and sit up and shake your hand. PeeWee loves to smile. He loves all his toys. Malcolm describes PeeWee as “the ideal companion.” and “the next best thing to having a good wife;” seeing as Malcolm has been married several times.

MONTGOMERY, TX -- Knowledge Point Network, U.S.A., a local charity dedicated to the suicide prevention of Combat Veterans with PTSD and their children, recently unveiled a new piece of equipment to assistance them in the maintenance of the area trails used in their program. KPN Founder, Ed Ponikvar, unveiled the organization's new Dozer Dog, at a recent breakfast gathering of the Lone Star Honor Flight Veterans Group this past Wednesday.
