1 INTRODUCTION Mulberry belongs to the genus Morus in the Moraceae family. It is widely cultivated around the world, especially in Asia (Jiao et al., 2020). Mulberry fruit is loved for the taste, colour, low calorie content, high nutritional value, and benefit to human health (Huang et al., 2017; Jelled et al., 2017).
