Nick Cave is one of the most prominent artists of the past several decades. On his recent trip to New York City, I was able to sit down with the legendary songwriter at the historic Electric Lady Studios to talk about the new Bad Seeds album called Wild God. While Cave may seem to be an intimidating figure, he couldn't have been more generous with his time or more open in our conversation.

Skip to main content The National kicked off the first of three nights at Celebrate Brooklyn with an amazing performance in front of a sold out crowd in Prospect Park. The band ran through a nearly two hour set filled with fan favorites like "Bloodbuzz Ohio" and "Fake Empire" while mixing in some great surprises, too. They had the crowd captivated from start to finish, and it's clear that The National have taken their live show to a whole new level.

The National has steadily held our attention ever since their 2001 self-titled debut. Over the years, the band has developed a uniquely somber yet lush style. Few expected the reunion of Dinosaur Jr. to stick, but almost 7 years later, a new album called I Bet On Sky finds the band more assured and nuanced than ever before. Distortion and feedback are still prime ingredients, so even though it's 2013, it's nice to know some things never change. Hear J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph run through a mix of songs — new, old, and all live — in their Studio A visit, and check out the performances in video too. [recorded: 12/03/12]

As a producer and one half of The Black Keys, Dan Auerbach is already busy guy. But a solo record somehow fit into his non-stop schedule, as did a few more layers of sound. Hear the results on the album Keep It Hid and in my conversation with Dan in Studio A.

Been in Philly most of the week for the NonCommvention, so Hollandude has you covered tonight at 9p on @Alternate_Side on @wfuv. Happy listening! https://t.co/vFDMayrIjN

I’ll kick off The Alternate Side at 9p with our annual (early) Cinco de Mayo tradition, “Buenas Tardes Amigo!” New music from The Beths, The Hives, Ezra Furman, Viagra Boys, Sunflower Bean and tons more, too. See you at 9 on @wfuv! #publicradiorules https://t.co/bi6vjqMgdP

“Streets of Philadelphia” is one of Bruce’s best, I think. So, a full record from that era? Sign me up. This one is really, really good. @springsteen, @ColumbiaRecords, #springsteen, #blindspot https://t.co/wo7alsqXxZ
