Got your ticket yet to the 2025 WFUV High Line Bash at City Winery at Pier 57 on April 30? If so, along with Jade Bird and Fantastic Cat, you're going to see one of Britain's most beloved, critically revered two-tone, ska, and punk bands, The English Beat, led by singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave Wakeling.

Harrison Cohen is the mastermind behind DUUNES. The singer, songwriter and guitarist writes incredibly catchy indie rock jams that fit nicely on a playlist with bands like The Killers, Kings of Leon, Cold War Kids and Cage the Elephant (Cohen actually does a great cover of the latter's "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" which went viral on TikTok). Great covers aside, I was first drawn to Cohen's raucous banger "Fever Dream," his very first single, released in 2023.

The deeply soulful voices of Brittany Davis and Annie & The Caldwells add joyous spring reverie, along with a pop-up live release by Billy Strings with Bryan Sutton. Also, Laufey, Tune-Yards, Sharon Van Etten, and Neil Hannon, a.k.a. The Divine Comedy — .all strong new releases.

Full confession: due to travel, tonight's "UKNY" had to be prerecorded early last week, so I just missed the inclusion of the starry, spiky return of the new Pulp single — sorry, Jarvis! That said, there are other fantastic big comebacks to cheer about this evening at 11 p.m., like Stereolab, bouncing back with their first album in 15 years, Instant Holograms on Metal Film, out on May 23. The group's skyward-tilting new single is co-written by Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane.
