    (ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Emmanuel Seventh-Day Adventist church held a "free" event Saturday morning in mid-town. The mid-town church has tried to hold this event every other month to help the community with things like household goods, clothing from kids to adult sizes, canned foods and some fun stuff and breakfast too, all for free. "We do it because God asks us do for one and another thing is it makes us happy," Craig Curtis said.

JOSEPH, Mo.) St. Joseph has only 980 hotel rooms for visitors, but the revitalization of a vacant lot on the southeast corner of Fredrick and Woodbine will greatly increase the number of rooms in the city. Steven Craig with STJ Hotel Group plans to put in two hotels and one conference center here in St. Joseph. The construction for the new buildings will be where the old Ramada Inn and Applebee's were located.

    (ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The St. Joseph downtown Sertoma club received a $5,000 check from Sertoma International for serving the community for 100 years. The Sertoma club in St. Joseph has actually been around for 111 year but the International Sertoma board decided recently to contribute a $5,000 check to each club that has celebrated 100 years or more. The club has approximately 500 clubs across the United States and Canada. Sertoma member, Pat Dillon says, "I think it's great.

A father and three children were transported to Mosaic Life Care Tuesday evening around after a two-vehicle crashAccording to the St. Joseph Police Department, a Ford Explorer was eastbound on Hickory Street, when the failed to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection 6th Street and Hickory Street. The Explorer hit the side of a Chrysler that was driving north on 6th Street. Both vehicles came to a stop in a nearby field.
