Scouts and Guides from Rhiwbina and other local areas are among those taking to the stage this week for Cardiff's golden anniversary Gang Show production. This Is Gang Show opened at the New Theatre last night (Wednesday 20 November) and continues until Saturday. It's a spectacular display of young talent, featuring over 100 young people experiencing the excitement of performing on a professional stage.

If you come to Colorado in the summer and spend a weekend with my family, we’ll likely force you to go over one of the nearby mountain passes with us in some kind of four-wheel- drive vehicle. The narrow roads are unpaved, bumpy, and sometimes a little too close to the edge of cliffs and steep drop-offs on the side of the mountain. These mountain adventures have become one of my favorite pastimes, though they weren’t always.

Apparently, I’m really not a winter person. Every winter, without fail, I start questioning everything about my life— my purpose, my location, my abilities. I live in an area that can see snow for at least six months of the year. There’s something about the short, bitterly cold winter days that shrinks my vision. I desperately need my family’s consistent reminders that winter snow supplies moisture for the wildflower summers I live for. We’ve lived in the mountains of Colorado for several years.
