The Hornets jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Rory Schreindorfer doubled, scoring one run, Ava Burns doubled, scoring two runs, and Jorja Kinney singled, scoring one run. Enosburg added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Natalie Lovelette grounded out, and Ava Burns grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
