APA Group, an ASX-listed operator of natural gas and electricity assets, is scoping what it’s calling version “3.0” of its enterprise content management, encompassing technical upgrades and an embrace of mobile and AI. Enterprise content management specialist Jessica Redway told a recent OpenText summit in Sydney that the company’s main use for ECM technology is to manage engineering documents both for internal use and sharing with external parties.

Football Australia is set to use AI camera technology and NBN connectivity at key venues to automatically capture and stream matches in 4K. The “automated broadcast transformation” will see “key Football Australia and member federation venues equipped with NBN services from Superloop and unspecified “AI cameras.”This will be used to broadcast matches in the Australia Cup, a national knockout tournament involving over 700 senior community clubs nationwide.

Virgin Australia is using the Kafka stream processing platform to power a growing range of customer experience features, from automated rebooking of flights to journey and baggage tracking tools in its app. Integration platform lead Nick Mouton told a Confluent data streaming world tour event in Sydney this week that the airline replaced “batch-oriented legacy middleware and messaging technologies used to enable data flows between systems” with Confluent Kafka.

ANZ Plus, ANZ’s digital bank, will introduce two passwordless authentication methods to log into bank accounts from mid-2025. The bank said that customers will be able to log in either via an app or passkey. Using the app method, “customers can enter their mobile number and approve a login request sent to their ANZ Plus app” to log into their web banking. The alternative is to use their face, fingerprint or device PIN to authenticate, as other digital banks such as NAB’s ubank allows.
