RICHARDSON, TX – Angelo State senior Ethan Flodstrom was named the Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week on Monday after leading the top-ranked Rams to a four-game sweep over West Texas A&M. Flodstrom, a designated hitter from Port Angeles, Washington, batted .588 (10-for-17) in the series with four home runs, three doubles, and 10 RBIs. He also scored nine runs and drew three walks.

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced the arrest of Carlos Venegas Ortiz, a fugitive on the state’s “10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants” list, in Tarrant County on Wednesday. Ortiz, 46, a Mexican national, was wanted out of Tarrant County since October 2024 on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a young child. He was taken into custody at an apartment complex in Haltom City.

SAN ANGELO, TX — A crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian on a bicycle happened in a quiet San Angelo neighborhood on Wednesday. The crash occurred at the intersection of Oak Grove and Laurel Oak at around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. According to the San Angelo Police Department, a white Chevy Traverse was headed southbound on Oak Grove when the driver struck a juvenile girl on a bike traveling on Laurel Oak Road.
