One of Oregon State’s former quarterbacks is hitting the transfer portal once again. Gevani McCoy, who transferred from OSU to Texas State following the 2024 season, is back in the portal. After spending the spring with the Bobcats, McCoy is “testing the waters” and getting a strong response from other schools, a source told The Oregonian/OregonLive. McCoy — a 6-foot, dual-threat quarterback — spent one season at Oregon State after three years at Idaho.

A former reserve forward for Oregon State men’s basketball has found his transfer destination. Maxim Logue announced his transfer to Florida Atlantic on Wednesday. Logue — originally from Lyon, France — spent one season with the Beavers and has three years of eligibility remaining. Logue averaged 2.9 points and two rebounds per game in 21 appearances for Oregon State this past season.

Oregon State women’s basketball has added some serious size in the frontcourt. Former Utah center Néné Sow announced her transfer to the Beavers on Wednesday. Standing at 6-8, Sow is among the tallest players in program history, a list that includes Jelena Mitrovic (6-9) and Joanna Grymek (6-8). Hailing from Brussels, Belgium, the graduate transfer spent three seasons at Utah including one redshirt year in 2022-23. Prior to that, she played two seasons at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

Oregon State women’s basketball snagged a transfer guard from its Pac-12 compatriots. Washington State guard Jenna Villa announced her transfer to the Beavers on Sunday. Villa, currently a sophomore, averaged 5.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game last season for the Cougars. The 6-1 Villa was a regular starter for Washington State last season, appearing in the starting lineup in 29 of the team’s 35 games. She maintained a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio in her second season out of Arlington, Washington.

Oregon NIL bill advances in state legislature; could conflict with House settlement

A bill that modifies existing Oregon law around student-athletes earning money from their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) advanced in the state legislature last week. On April 10, House Bill 3694 passed in the Oregon House with 46 votes in favor, nine against, and five not voting. It moves to the Senate chamber, where a first reading is scheduled for Monday. HB 3694 has the backing of University of Oregon and a letter of support from Oregon State student-athlete and U.S. Olympian Jade Carey.
