    One hundred eighty days — that’s how long it’s been since the lives of those living near the Nolichucky River were altered by Hurricane Helene. For the Washington County Long Term Recovery Group, Sept. 26, the day before Hurricane Helene struck the region, isn’t just a distant memory — it’s a goal. “We want to help get their lives back to the way it was before Sept. 26,” said Bruce Treadway, the group’s volunteer coordinator.
