CHICAGO (WTVO) — Health issues have prevented one of the Chicago Cubs’ biggest fans, Ronnie “Woo Woo” Wickers, from attending a game so far this year. Wickers has been as much of a fixture at Wrigley Field as any player or coach for decades. Earlier this year, doctors discovered Wickers has Pulmonary Fibrosis, a lung disease that causes scarring of the lung tissue. The condition can make it difficult to breathe and absorb oxygen into the bloodstream.

The walk began outside Emmanuel Episcopal Church on North Church Street this morning. People across several different Christian faiths stopped 14 times throughout downtown, each stop to represent a station of the cross.

(WTVO) — Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich has returned home after being hospitalized Tuesday night, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The medical incident happened while he was at a San Antonio Steak House. He was taken out on a stretcher, according to footage taken by TMZ. The oldest coach in basketball experienced a mild stroke on November 2nd, according to the Spurs’ staff. The 72-year-old signed a 5 year contract extension with the Spurs in 2023.

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Austin Olmstead, 18, for having a firearm with defaced serial numbers, among other charges. On March 29, around 10:30 p.m., officers were called to the 4100 block of Auburn Street for gunfire that was detected by a shot spotter system. Further investigation revealed that a group of people were at a Citgo Gas Station in the 4300 block of Auburn buying drugs, according to court records.
