(KMAland) -- Rainy weather has postponed Memorial Day flag clean-up efforts at Shenandoah's Rose Hill Cemetery. American Legion Post 88 Commander Joe Jardon tells KMA News they are moving their clean-up event to Tuesday evening at 5. Volunteers are asked to meet at the cemetery to help pick-up flags that were placed as part of the city's annual Memorial Day ceremony. (Norwalk) – A Des Moines man was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 35 south of Des Moines Sunday evening. The Iowa State Patrol says a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 62-year-old Dale Loren Acker of Greenfield was southbound on I-35 near Norwalk around 6:30 p.m. The patrol says Acker fell asleep at the wheel, entered the west ditch and struck a pedestrian. The vehicle continued through the ditch before coming to rest on the shoulder.

(Shenandoah) – The Iowa Supreme Court has overturned a lower court’s ruling in a medical malpractice lawsuit against Shenandoah Medical Center, sending the case back to determine if it can proceed without expert testimony. In a 4-3 decision this week, the Iowa Supreme Court sided with Shenandoah Medical Center and returned a suit brought by Douglas and Jane Wilson to district court to determine whether it can go forward.

(Avoca) -- Regional Water customers who receive water from the Avoca Treatment Plant have been placed under mandatory use restrictions. Due to declining supplies from its wellfield, the Regional Water Board of Directors has implemented Level Red restrictions for customers of the association in Shelby, Audubon, Cass, Harrison, and northern Pottawattamie counties. This includes the communities of Avoca, Persia, Panama, Portsmouth, Westphalia, Kirkman, Tennant, Earling, Exira, and Brayton.
