    DALLAS — Mike McCarthy is not expected to return as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, WFAA has confirmed Monday. ESPN insider Adam Schefter first reported that McCarthy and the Cowboys "engaged in no discussions about a new deal" and that McCarthy is now expected to be a candidate for the open coaching positions in New Orleans and Chicago. WFAA is working to confirm Schefter's report. Mike McCarthy is not expected to return to Dallas and is now set to become a free agent, per source.

With the MLB winter meetings happening in Dallas, the local club is having an active week -- after already locking down a few moves ahead of time. The biggest deal was the reported re-signing of starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi, who inked a three-year, $75 million deal, according to the Associated Press and others.

    FRISCO, Texas — Three people were found dead at a home in Frisco on Friday afternoon, police said late Friday night. According to a news release from Frisco PD, officers had responded around 4:13 p.m. to a welfare concern at a home in the 10200 block of Bancroft Lane, near Eldorado Parkway and Hillcrest Road. Police said the person who reported the concern said that a co-worker had not shown up to work and could not be reached by phone.

    ARLINGTON, Texas — Six Flags Over Texas has closed two roller coasters to make way for a "record-breaking dive roller coaster" that will open in 2026, the Arlington theme park announced Thursday. The new coaster – more details of which have not been released yet – will be added in the Spain section of the park, where the La Vibora and El Diablo coasters were recently retired, according to a release from Six Flags. La Vibora, the longtime bobsled-style coaster, opened in 1986.
